A sustainable eco-system!Our Services

One of the best parts about the Eco-Op (along with being able to work alongside such a passionate group of colleagues!) is that, together, we are far greater than the sum of our parts, and this is especially true with regards to our products and service offerings.

Imagine, for instance, that you sit on the Green Committee of one of our local schools and are faced with the (daunting!) task of reducing your school's environmental footprint. Where do you start? Should you start a recycling program (something more comprehensive than the paper dumpster around back)? How about a composting program? Or a Community Garden to provide fresh herbs and produce throughout the year? Or maybe there's some way to integrate environmental education--why it's important to take care of our resources--into the school's academic and/or art curriculum?

Well, member-organizations of the Eco-Op offer all of the above-mentioned services and more (see the list to the right). And the best part is, we can accomplish all of those things together simultaneously! Imagine being able to repsonsibly manage your school's waste output (via compost and recycling programs), provide fresh foods (including herbs, produce, honey, and more), introduce students to sustainable projects (community gardens, apiculture, vermiculture, etc.), generate great press releases (via numerous local online publications), and even raise money for the school (via newspaper, electronics, and book drives)? This is exactly the kind of comprehensive action that the Dallas Eco-Op is so excited to offer our community.
